We have all been there - you get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the week, that by the time Friday comes around, you feel like there is nothing left, right? But if you think about how much time we spend working, and thinking about working, and stressing about working, consider that we are basically spending a majority of our lives in this mode, and that just sounds depressing.
So, how do we avoid this sad state of affairs? We need to remember to enjoy the little things. You know, throughout the week, throughout each day, take a few moments here and there to relax, think about things you enjoy and are thankful for, and possibly even do more of those things. Here are a few "little things" that we like to enjoy to keep the work week blues away: ~ Backyard BBQs. Midweek, this is an awesome excuse to sit outside, catch a few evening rays and some vitamin D, drink something cold and refreshing, and relax for a few minutes. It doesn't take much longer than cooking dinner normally would, but it's a little more laid back. ~ Laughter. There is no sound more melodic and no feeling more contageous than a good, deep belly laugh. Add in laughter from a baby and you've got a recipe for true happiness. ;) ~ Playing on the lawn. Watching the dog and cats and boss baby run around chasing bubbles or frisbees or just being silly is pure joy. They love it when Mom and Dad join in on the fun, and it feels freeing to act like a kid again for a few minutes. =) What are some of the "little things" that keep you going through the week? We'd love to hear from you - let us know! =)
